Building props for a sci fi film, Trapped in Space.

The props relied on going out and buying techy stuff and dressing them up a bit. This was the only way to produce the volumes needed in a short time. This life pod was made from motorbike cowls dressed with left over spacesuit parts.

Laser pens were a big thing back then and so we acquire several of these to be redressed as medical and other tools.

There were several medical kits, tool kits and other kits. All had to be filled with stuff to make them look interesting. We went out and bought heaps of tools and medical stuff to fill fancy plastic tool boxes with.

All around the ship were different control panels and intercom units. These again were pretty much kit bashed from toys and electrical stuff.

Fancy touch screen pads had just come out, progenitors to modern phones and iPad. We used a couple of these large clunky things to make our versions with so actors could be seen using them without VFX needed.
